Travel around the world, stay with friends, and discover new cities. Show your new friends the insider spots in your town. Find travel partners all over the world. Describe yourself and show what country and city you live in. Upload pictures and even videos and report on your travels so far.
Does flatjump's service cost anything?
flatjump is free of charge. We guarantee you that flatjump services will remain free of charge in the future as well.
How do i sign up for flatjump?
All you have to do is register once. To register, you need to provide the following information: username, sex, date of birth, e-mail address, and the city or town where you live.
What happens to my information?
The default setting for your profile shows only your username, sex, and age and the city or town where you live. Your friends and fellow group members are notified of when your birthday is. For data protection reasons, we do not ask that you provide an actual address when you register; instead, we limit ourselves to the city or town where you live.
So what can others see about me, or about other people?
You have a lot of options to expand your profile. In the "Edit profile" section, you can fill out a number of predefined fields. If you wish, these fields can be translated into various languages when your profile is displayed. In addition, you can describe yourself in your own words via open text entry fields. The information in these fields is not translated, so to make sure as many users as possible can learn all about you, we recommend that you fill them out in English. The choice of language, however, is ultimately up to you.
You can also add photos and videos to your profile. Photos and videos can also be linked to your friends' profiles. Your friends are also shown in your friends list: Other users can see who your flatjump friends are and which of them live farthest away.
How do i find other people, and how do they find me?
To make your search for suitable travel partners easier, we have built in various search functions for you. You can search for a specific username or for specific locations where you would like to find people. You can also search by nationality.
So how do i get in touch with other flatjump members?
We set up a "Messages" section, where flatjump members can contact one another, for just this purpose. Only you can view your inbox and outbox. If you don't want to receive messages from a specific flatjump member, you can block that member's profile without alerting the member.
What do i do if i forget my password?
Click the "I forgot my password" link on the login page and follow the instructions that appear.
What are groups, and why do i need any?
Groups are communities of shared interests. In them, you can meet people with whom you share interests and discuss a specific topic, or find people who want to go with you to an event or concert. Your groups are displayed in your profile.
How can i cancel my account?
We would be sad if you cancelled your account, but we also don't want to keep people with us who don't want to stay.
You have to be logged in to delete your account.
